Production Will Be Moved to Other Laird Technologies Facilities
ST. LOUIS, MO USA — (July 31, 2007) — Laird Technologies, a global leader of critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced its intention to close its Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania facility and transfer all production and support services to other qualified Laird Technologies facilities.
This decision was made to mitigate the risk of further flood-related disruptions similar to those experienced in September 2004, April 2005 and June 2006 and insure operating excellence and reliable customer service.
Laird Technologies is working to ensure a seamless transfer of production and support services to other qualified Laird Technologies facilities. Inventory and other supply measures are being executed to insure continuity of supply and timely delivery to customers. Laird Technologies sales and customer service representatives will continue to work closely with customers to service their needs.
The difficult decision to close the Delaware Water Gap facility was driven by the overriding principle of providing excellent customer service and followed an extensive analysis of options for doing so.
“Laird Technologies recognizes and wishes to thank the employees of its Delaware Water Gap operations for the skill, dedication, and many contributions provided during its years of operation,” said Ron Hull, President. A number of these employees will be offered relocation to other Laird Technologies facilities and remaining employees affected by these changes will be offered a severance package.
